21.06.2021-25.06.2021: The first week of digital survey operations in Portugal came to an end. The operations are part of Work Package 3, the objectives of which are: defining operational protocols for the documentation and digital survey of the architecture of the Franciscan Order, implementation of digital surveys and structuring of the archives.
The Italian and Portuguese teams worked in Convento de Nossa Senhora de Mosteiró in Cerdal, in Convento de São Francisco do Monte in Viana do Castelo and in Convento San Payo in Vila Nova de Cerveira.
The fieldwork consisted of an analysis of the case study to make a datasheet census, regarding the history of the complexes and its architectural and surrounding landscape features.
A laser-scanner digital survey was made of the external and internal spaces of Convento de Nossa Senhora de Mosteiró (1) and Convento de São Francisco do Monte (2) to obtain a 3D point-cloud. In addition, an accurate photographic campaign of the case study was taken, with reflex cameras and a drone, in order to achieve complete documentation of the two convents and photogrammetric models. For the Convento San Payo (3), a quick photographic campaign was made of the external spaces and of the church, with reflex cameras and drone.
The raw data will be processed in the next months to get 3D models and 2D representations of the buildings: such material will also serve as a base for further studies on these complexes.
The Portuguese team arranged a Scientific Meeting in Oporto, Faculty of Theology - Catholic University, with speeches of the Project Leader S. Bertocci, the Principal Investigators M. Soler, S. Genin and M. F. Andrade and the respective team members about F-ATLAS project topics.
The Scientific Meeting was followed by a Private Meeting of the three teams.
